What’s Coming for Our Community

Over the years, the WOF has diligently worked to build inroads with community stakeholders and partnerships to serve people who need assistance.

The Church and WOF owns and steward land in the southwest of corner of Wake County, in proximity to the county lines of Chatham, Durham, Harnett and Lee Counties. Under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Charles Tyner and a core group of committed board and congregation members, our Foundation has opted to stay true to our mega-mission of building community infrastructure that services and sustains a diverse, healthy, and thriving village. Our vision to conceptualize a healthy village began to materialize in 2018 when the Town of Cary, NC, governing body unanimously approved WOF’s rezoning request for a PDP (preliminary development plan) enabling the development of:

  1. Community Resources Center [opened in 2020; occupants WOF services: food pantry, HUD-certified housing counselors, senior health and nutrition programs, youth tutoring), KOG Integrated Healthcare, Goshen Family Medical Practice, University of North Carolina Health Mobile Unit],
  2. Childcare Center [under construction – licensed 4star instruction for up to 150 children],
  3. 30 low/mod/workforce townhomes community,
  4. 60 units independent affordable senior apartment community
